Recall

All notes, tasks, projects, and tags are stored locally in a Core Data database on your device. This includes:
Your profile details (name, role, use case) are stored in local preferences on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
If you use Recall on multiple Apple devices, your notes sync automatically via CloudKit, Apple's iCloud infrastructure. Your note data is stored in your personal iCloud account and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple acts as the data processor for sync only.
Note Intelligence is opt-in and disabled by default. You must explicitly enable it in Settings, and it requires a premium subscription. Free users never have data sent externally for AI processing.
When enabled, note text is sent over HTTPS to a proxy server we operate on Cloudflare Workers. The proxy forwards the text to OpenAI's API for the following purposes:
Note text is not stored by our proxy or by OpenAI. Our proxy is stateless. It receives text, calls OpenAI, and returns the result. No logs of note content are kept. OpenAI processes text under their API data usage policy, which prohibits using API inputs to train their models.
Disabling Note Intelligence re-embeds your notes locally using Apple's on-device Natural Language framework. No external calls are made.
The following metadata is sent with each request to verify your subscription:
If you provide optional profile details (name, role, use case), a short context string may be included in AI requests to improve results. This is sent in transit only and never stored on our servers.
Recall uses RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat assigns you an anonymous user ID derived from your iCloud account. This ID is used to verify subscription status.
RevenueCat collects purchase receipts and subscription state. No personal information (name, email, payment details) passes through Recall. All payment processing is handled by Apple.

Recall uses Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used. Events tracked include things like note creation, search usage, and feature adoption. These events do not contain note text or personal information.
Recall uses Sentry for crash and error reporting. When an error occurs, a diagnostic report is sent that may include device type, OS version, and error context. No note content is included in crash reports.
Both services process data anonymously. No advertising identifiers are collected. Advertising is disabled.
Recall is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
