Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 14, 2026
1. Introduction
Glow Era is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, store, and safeguard your information when you use the Glow Era mobile application and related services.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
Glow Era does not require you to create an account or provide an email address. The only personal information we collect is a first name that you can optionally enter during onboarding so the app can personalize your experience. Your first name is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Facial Images and Facial Analysis Data
Facial images (photos or camera captures) that you voluntarily take or select within the app for AI-powered facial analysis, and non-identifying analysis data derived from those images (such as scores and written feedback across dimensions like skin, eyes, brows, lips, jawline, and facial harmony).
Subscription and Purchase Data
When you purchase a subscription to Glow Era Pro, Apple handles the transaction through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and manage entitlements. A randomly generated anonymous identifier is created to link your subscription to your device. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, or any other personal information.
Device and Usage Information
Information about your device (device model, operating system version, app version) and app usage data (features used, time spent, actions taken) may be collected to improve app functionality and stability. This data does not include facial images or your name.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information solely to:
- Provide AI-powered facial analysis features requested by the user
- Process facial images to generate personalized appearance insights and wellness plans
- Display analysis results within the app
- Manage subscriptions and verify access to paid features
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce fair usage limits
- Respond to user support inquiries
Glow Era does not perform biometric identification, facial recognition, identity verification, or create biometric identifiers or biometric templates.
Facial data is not used for advertising, tracking, profiling, or AI model training.
4. User Consent and Control
- Facial images are processed only after an explicit user action (capturing or selecting an image).
- You can delete any scan, along with its associated image and analysis data, at any time from within the app.
- Core app functionality is not dependent on providing optional personal information such as your name.
- You can revoke camera or photo library access at any time through your device's iOS settings.
5. Data Storage and Security
Facial images and analysis results are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). Glow Era does not operate a cloud database of user facial images and does not back up facial images to iCloud or any other remote storage. If you delete the app or reset your device, your scan history will be permanently lost.
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Facial images are transmitted only during the brief moment an analysis is requested and are not written to persistent storage on our backend.
We apply technical and organizational safeguards consistent with Apple's security and privacy standards.
6. Third-Party Processing and Data Sharing
To deliver Glow Era's features, we rely on a small number of third-party services. We do not sell, rent, or share your data for marketing purposes.
AI Analysis (OpenAI, via our backend)
When you request a facial analysis, your image is sent over a secure connection to our backend (hosted on Cloudflare Workers), which forwards the image to OpenAI solely to generate the requested analysis. Specifically:
- OpenAI processes facial images only to return analysis results.
- OpenAI does not retain facial images beyond what is required to process a request.
- OpenAI does not use facial images submitted through Glow Era for model training, biometric identification, advertising, or profiling.
- Your name is not sent to OpenAI.
Backend Infrastructure (Cloudflare)
Our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare acts as a processor that routes your analysis requests to OpenAI, enforces rate limits, and tracks aggregate usage quotas. No facial images are stored on Cloudflare. Basic request metadata (such as IP address) may be processed transiently by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention.
Subscription Management (RevenueCat and Apple)
RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements on our behalf. Apple processes all payments through the App Store. We do not see or store your payment information.
Analytics and Notifications (Firebase)
We use Firebase to power optional push notifications and to measure anonymous product usage events (for example, how many users complete onboarding or start a new scan). Firebase receives event names and technical device information. Firebase does not receive your facial images, your name, or your analysis results.
All third-party service providers used by Glow Era are required to provide data protection and security standards consistent with this Privacy Policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
7. Sharing Your Results
Glow Era includes an optional feature that lets you generate a shareable image of your score card. Sharing is always initiated by you, through the standard iOS share sheet. You choose whether to include your first name and photo on the card, and you choose where the image is sent (Messages, social apps, Photos, etc.). Glow Era does not publish your profile or results to any public directory.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- Glow Era does not retain facial images on its own servers.
- Facial images and analysis data remain stored only on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
- Upon deletion, facial data is permanently removed from user-accessible storage. Glow Era does not maintain backups of deleted facial images.
- Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained as required for billing, tax, and compliance purposes.
- Anonymous usage events collected by Firebase are retained according to Firebase's standard retention policies.
9. Children's Privacy
Glow Era is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Your Control Over Your Data
Your facial images and analysis results live on your device, not on our servers. That means you are in direct control of your data at all times:
- Delete individual scans from within the app to remove the image and its analysis.
- Delete the app to remove all scans, your name, and app preferences from your device.
- Revoke camera or photo library access at any time in your device's iOS settings.
There is no separate account to close and no server-side copy for us to retrieve or erase. If you have a question we cannot answer through the app, contact us using the details below.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated within the app.
